In addition to the "As above, so below," via the arms, I think there's the sense in solve et coagulum that is analogous to "from dust to dust," but on the backside of that of that, as in a renewal through death.

For the sense of "backside," I remind us of the surprising witticism of "A chicken is an egg's way of making another egg." Then of course, there's the apropos story of the Phoenix's rise from ashes, which I suggest is a actual dark power that has slipped into mythology for those of us that occasionally stroll in the Light.
