You'll recall that was the solution of Fr. Francis Browne, S.J (1888-1960) the highest ranking Jesuit in Ireland at the time, who was the Jesuit Master of Edward John "E.J." Smith (a "Jesuit of the short robe", for EJ on 4/14-15/1912.
It was likely Bruce Ismay, Managing Director of the White Star Line, who strong-armed EJ, partly through the latter's growing list of captaincy screw-ups aboard several White Star Line ships, that he was being commanded to purposely hit an iceberg and let the HMS Olympic-in-Titanic livery sink, but that it was fake" and he and the passengers would be rescued by another ship, lying in wait. Fr. Browne sailed with EJ for the leg from Southampton, but exited on the morning of 4/11 at the last stop before the crossing, just off the coast of Queensland (now Cobh, County Cork), Ireland.
"The ship had been built for the enemies of the Jesuits. After three days at at, the "Titanic" was propelled full speed ahead, twenty-two knots, on a moonless dark night through a gigantic ice field nearly eighty square miles in area. You of course saw the Skull and Bones 322 signature. Jorge Mario Bergoglio, S.J.,(Francis) as Pope, the first "official" Black Pope, prophesied by Fr. Malachy...but I digress.
The SS California was outfitted--at the time of a particularly contentious UK coal workers strike--with sufficient coal for a round trip transit from the UK to the US, but strangely zero passengers (at a time when many people earnestly sought and paid dearly for a berths for a transit to the US) Nonetheless the California had a robust store of woolen sweaters that would lay within an easy few hours' sailing of where the "Titanic" would hit its iceberg, but the California was delayed and came only far too late to the sinking aftermath.
The reasons for the delay were two, on the main. 1) the Californian's telegrapher fell asleep and primarily, 2) the flares with which the Titanic had been outfitted for the voyage were only of the white variety. Red flares would have signaled danger, but white was associated with mere revelry.
And whoever thought Hollywood's storyboards for their hundred-minute films were some kind of mentally-fathomable limit compared to what happens in real life?
And would a search warrant have something to do with Chauvin's precinct coincidentally being torched?
