Dear Madam Speaker: (Dear Mr. President:)

Section 202(d) of the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1622(d)) provides for the automatic termination of a national emergency unless, within 90 days before the anniversary date of its declaration, the President publishes in the Federal Register and transmits to the Congress a notice stating that the emergency is to continue in effect beyond the anniversary date.  In accordance with this provision, I have sent to the Federal Register for publication the enclosed notice stating that the national emergency with respect to the actions and policies of certain members of the Government of Belarus and other persons to undermine democratic processes or institutions of Belarus that was declared in Executive Order 13405 of June 16, 2006, is to continue in effect beyond June 16, 2020.

The actions and policies of certain members of the Government of Belarus and other persons to undermine Belarus’s democratic processes or institutions, to commit human rights abuses related to political repression, and to engage in public corruption continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States.  Therefore, I have determined that it is necessary to continue the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13405 with respect to Belarus.  I am enclosing a copy of the order I have issued.

Sincerely,

DONALD J. TRUMP

...that was declared in Executive Order 13405 of June 16, 2006, is to continue in effect beyond June 16, 2020.

This is an annual renewal that has been going on since the Dubya days, and has already been renewed by both Obummer and President Trump.

This is a nothing burger.

Yah, but it is rather cunning of President Trump to use a forgotten declaration to assert his Constitutional authority and leverage.

Particularly when it references ... “certain members of the Government ... to engage in public corruption”

A little jab there, perhaps???

It refutsNancy Pelosi/Chuck SHumer lies about the country being leaderless when the public can see business as usual being conducting. The MSM and Deep Staters are trying to portray the government in a state of collapse. Drudge uses the word “civil war” on their home page right now.

But in the White House, and throughout the land, the president is upholding the law and re-issuing documents on schedule.

This declaration is word-for-word identical to last year's declaration, except for the dates.

TO THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES:

Section 202(d) of the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1622(d)) provides for the automatic termination of a national emergency unless, within 90 days before the anniversary date of its declaration, the President publishes in the Federal Register and transmits to the Congress a notice stating that the emergency is to continue in effect beyond the anniversary date. In accordance with this provision, I have sent to the Federal Register for publication the enclosed notice stating that the national emergency with respect to the actions and policies of certain members of the Government of Belarus and other persons to undermine democratic processes or institutions of Belarus that was declared in Executive Order 13405 of June 16, 2006, is to continue in effect beyond June 16, 2019.

DONALD J. TRUMP

THE WHITE HOUSE,
June 13, 2019.
