Funnel Beaker Culture

Pitted Ware Culture

Battle Axe Culture

Huh.

In Sweden.

“The Battle Axe people are attacking! Sven! You charge them with a funnel! I’ll throw plates at them!”

Mysteriously, only the Battle Axe Culture survived.

Mysteriously, only the Battle Axe Culture survived.

Nice sense of humor.

The Battle Axe Culture is associated with the irruption of Indo-European languages into Europe.

As in Homer calling Agamemnon, onax anthropwn (lord of men). The 'onax' is 'wonax' in Mycenean Greek. 'Wo' = war, 'ax' = 'axe'. 'Bearer of the war axe' is a more literal translation, but it was probably remembered only as an honorific by Homer's time.

The Funnel Cake Culture by contrast thrived by catering chariot shows.
