Statement from the Press Secretary [re John Bolton]
whitehouse.gov ^ | June 20, 2020 | White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany

Posted on 06/20/2020 10:57:27 AM PDT by ransomnote

The United States District Court for the District of Columbia today vindicated the Government’s claims against former National Security Adviser John Bolton, ruling that “Bolton likely jeopardized national security by disclosing classified information in violation of his nondisclosure agreement obligations.”  The court rightly chastised Bolton for treating as “intolerable” a review process for his book that the court believed was “reasonable.”  As the court explained, “Bolton has gambled with the national security of the United States,” hoping to secure profits by violating his nondisclosure agreements.  But Bolton bet wrong, and the downside of his losing bet is that he “stands to lose his profits from the book deal, exposes himself to criminal liability, and imperils national security.”

The court denied the Government’s request for an injunction solely because Bolton’s wrongful conduct—carried out in secret—had already ensured that the book was so widely disseminated that the court believed it could no longer grant an effective remedy.

The Government intends to hold Bolton to the further requirements of his agreements and to ensure that he receives no profits from his shameful decision to place his desire for money and attention ahead of his obligations to protect national security.

That’s like saying the thief was wrong but can keep their stolen property because he used it.

Not only should he lose the profits from the book, the entire proceeds should be forfeit. The publisher shouldn’t make a dime from the book either. Let both of them lose their asses.

Keep praying everyone that the Lord will reveal these scoundrels and their evil intentions and actions and provide swift justice for all such traitors against our precious country at home and abroad. To God be the Glory. America needs to get its priorities in order for without Him we are nothing and we can do nothing!

Does that mean no profits to Bolton from book?

“I can’t believe how wrong I was about Bolton. Live and learn.”

You are not alone. I was willing to give him a chance, but boy did that turn out bad.

I’m always uncomfortable with the “violation of National security” claim. In the past it has been proven that most things deemed “Top Secret” are so because they are embarrassing to the powers that be, not because our security is actually at risk.

I hate it when my side makes this argument, and if these musings were actually dangerous to the country, he should be prosecuted, not just sued for his profits.

So my common sense is telling me that the “top secret” secrets are nothing that should be top secret at all.

Before I had no desire to read this rubbish. Now I am a bit curious. I wish they had just ignored this and let it go.

The irony is that Bolton is unable to hurt Trump. He only ruined himself.

That's exactly what it doesn't say.

The Government intends to hold Bolton to the further requirements of his agreements and to ensure that he receives no profits from his shameful decision to place his desire for money and attention ahead of his obligations to protect national security.

I knew they could not stop distribution but the government should act to make the life of the publisher miserable.

Sounds to me like they’re letting him skate after violating his signed NDA. Words mean things, actions speak quite a bit louder. This is a no-action rebuke.

I can’t believe how wrong I was about Bolton. Live and learn.

Me too. I guess that it wasn't only the swabbies that were stupid, us ground pounders were right there with you.

I was so caught up with 9/11, that while there were doubts about Iraq, I couldn't see past revenge.

In fact, I was for bombing Iran, instead of Iraq {or in addition to Iraq}.

To this day, my tagline is the only solution for the mooselimb problem.

There is no compromise with someone that will settle only for your death.

We are back to primal instincts because that is all the mooselimbs recognize.

I have studied the koran, and a true believer wants all non-mooselimbs converted or killed.

They are still living in the 7th century, and for any one that questions that fact, look at sharia law.

Which other world "religion" cuts off your hand{s} for stealing, or stones it's women to death after she has been raped because she dishonored her tribe.

And for all the talk about the "good mooselimbs" where the hell have they been for the past 1400 years?

There are a coupla dozen "reformers" that talk, talk, and talk and nothing changes.

The final solution is the only solution.

Maybe, Bolton was right, he just didn't go far enough, or fast enough.

He is a back shooter, and that won't get it done.

Same here, I was clearly in the wrong about Bolton. He is channeling John “The Traitor” McCain in that this is all politic payback, nothing more.

If Bolton was that concerned about Trump why didn’t he speak up at the impeachment hearings? Why wait until now?

Bolton is either a liar or a coward. You decide which.

“gambled with the national security of the United States”
