Talk about remote!
Within a 600 mile radius, the only name I recognized was “Irkutsk,” which I know only because I played “Risk” when I was growing up.
The Altai Mountains are in a confined region where the four borders of China, Russia, Mongolia, and Kazakhstan almost touch.
Mount Everest is about 2,000 miles straight south.
