I had two Maine Coon Cats - took them to a vet and asked about the one: “Can a cat be retarded?”
The one cat was ~ 6 years old at the time, but he still acted like a kitten.
The vet told me yes, and I should be thankful...
I miss that cat still...

Maine Coons are great! A LOT of cat, and really friendly ... great hunters. I have never seen a retarded one, so I would just call that an agreeable defect rather than something associated with the breed. One Maine Coon cleaned out our neighborhood in Columbus, Georgia of sewer rats. Other neighborhood cats steered clear when he was out. I called him the Kingfish, because he ran the whole show. (Unfortunately, he died eating a poisoned rodent)
