President Trump on Monday suggested without evidence that his predecessor, former President Obama, committed treason in connection with the investigation into the 2016 Trump campaign’s contacts with Russia.
“Treason. Treason. It’s treason,” Trump said in an interview with CBN News. The president did not elaborate on the specific charge but repeated his assertion that the previous administration “spied” on his campaign in the course of the Russia probe.
“They’d been spying on my campaign,” Trump told CBN News’s David Brody. “Turned out I was right. Let’s see what happens to them now.”
Trump signaled he was looking forward to the results of U.S. Attorney John Durham’s ongoing investigation into the origins of the Russia investigation, calling the Connecticut prosecutor “highly respected” and praising Attorney General William Barr.
“I want to stay out of it because otherwise it’s going to look political,” Trump said. “Let’s see what they come up with.”

There’s that, “Without evidence” evidence qualifier again. It was first used when Trump stated way back in early 2017 that his campaign was wiretapped.

before a treason charge can stick, his citizenship (or lack thereof) status would have to be determined (and recall he destroyed or hid all his records including his immigration file, real birth certificate, even his academic records which would have revealed his foreign student status, etc))
second, if a charge were brought on his Oath of Office instead of any citizenship, did he really take the Oath? (recalling he flubbed in at the public ceremony and only claimed, without any proof as I can recall, that he took it privately later on)
just wondering... we saw all of the above and I speculated this reason for all his obfuscation of citizenship and yes, oath-taking....was to lay foundations for escaping a treason charge

Funny they claim Trump accused Obama of having committed treason “without evidence”. That’s exactly what the MSM did to Trump for 2+ years.

The President has the legal authority to do much if not all of what it looks like he did there. Which is not to say that it was not vigorously corrupt and despicable.
How would the stupid reporter know what the evidence is? AFAIK, he doesn’t have access to all the classified information or NSA information that POTUS may have.
Someone on down the thread asked how many Americans had been spied on. I’d have to say all of them-given the mass data collection done as exposed by whistle blowers, but some-such as POTUS more than others.
