I know how he feels. I saw the rope used to pull down my garage door, and I broke down in tears for days. Just thinking about all the sisal deaths inflicted to get fibers for that rope, all the blistered fingers from twisting them together to make that one rope, and all the harm that has been inflicted by ropes over the past 300,000 years - it was too much for me.
I expect someone whose job involves entering a garage every day that he works to be made of stronger stuff, but obviously he’s no tougher than I am. That would be too much to ask.
I’ll bet that brand new piece of rope that is bigger and a different type as the ropes on the rest of the doors in the garages came from a Country Store not far from the track. nutscar probably sent some anonymous buyer to go get it.
