I moved to New England in the late 70s. I LOVED that campaign. The TV ads would show people enjoying their lifestyle in NY. I clearly remember one ad that showed a family getting ready to climb a mountain trail and the Dad looks at the camera and says we love to hike in it!. It really did showcase so many activities that Im sure it increased tourism to the state. And yes, most of the activities shown werent in the City.

Before his death, Glaser mentioned he had heard of the coronavirus. Per Gov. Baby Doc Cuomo’s edict, the cause of death is listed as “COVID-19.”

I’d say that is a sign that the Big Apple has become full of worms, and that the I Love New York slogan is now a thing of the past.

Dylan’s Greatest Hits album was one of the first I ever bought, from the Columbia Record Club, and I put that poster on my ceiling. Even though I mostly grew up in New York, I don’t think I ever knew that Glaser had also done the I Love NY logo.
