$1 Billion in Government Coronavirus Payments Went to Dead People

The 403-page investigation by the Government Accountability Office was ordered in a provision of the CARES Act, the $2 trillion emergency pandemic aid legislation, which Congress passed in March. So far, $643 billion of this allocation has been spent, the auditors said.

The report noted that as of April 30, nearly 1.1 million payments, totaling almost $1.4 billion, had gone to dead people. According to the G.A.O., the Internal Revenue Service said it did not have the legal authority to deny payment to anyone who filed a tax return for 2019, even if they had since died.

The auditors recommended that Congress give the Treasury Department access to federal death records, to avoid future payments to the deceased.

The report also criticized the C.D.C.’s counting of coronavirus tests, which combines tests for an active infection and those that detect antibodies. This practice inflates the percentage of Americans that appear to have been tested and gives an unreliable picture of the way the virus is spreading around the country, according to the new report. After the C.D.C. was criticized last month for combining the two types of tests in its reports, the agency promised to separate them. But as of June 9, it had still not resolved the issue, the office reported.

IN May, the CDC was falsely inflating the number of active Coronavirus infections by adding the antibody test results which show that a person PREVIOUSLY had the virus to the number of persons who currently have the virus. They were told to stop, in some cases they supposedly didn't know they were doing it?!!!!

This fake data has been used to damage lives nationwide and as of June 9th, they were STILL doing it. I imagine it's just 'too hard' for them to figure out how not to inflate the numbers artificially so it's probably still happening. Sadly, the antibody tests which show prior infections are faulty and wrong, and can test positive for those who had the flu. HOW MANY PEOPLE REALLY HAVE, OR HAVE HAD, COVID? It's impossible to say because the CDC has done everything it possibly can to conceal the truth.

Antibody tests for Covid-19 wrong up to half the time, CDC says

In Texas, their "experts" decided to count 15 'presumed' infections for every single positive test. No wonder they 'can' report "explosive" numbers of infections - they fake their data.

The question becomes not, “Who received the checks,” but “Who cashed those checks?”

Actually, weren’t a lot of those in the form of gift cards? In which case, your local mail person got them.

Gift cards? As in, “No ID required for use?”

Spraying money around with a fire hose!

If the payments went to dead people, why were they all mailed to the DNC Headquarters?

“If the payments went to dead people, why were they all mailed to the DNC Headquarters?”

Now we need to check the voter rolls and remove those dead people from them.

stop the tests...or keep them private (I know...they’d still get leaked to FakeNewsMSM).

it’s so evident the test numbers are being used as yet another weapon against President Trump.

never forget Rosenstein’s sister, Nancy Messonnier, is still at CDC...and who knows who else is there.

2 Jul: Yahoo: After months of being silenced, CDC is easing back into public view
Alexander Nazaryan, National Correspondent
WASHINGTON: On June 12, 2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention did something it had not done for months: It held a press briefing.
Widely touted as the finest public health agency in the world, the CDC had been dormant since March 9, when one of its top officials held a teleconference with journalists. On that day, Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of the agency’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, counseled the American public to “fight the urge to buy a mask” to protect against the coronavirus.

Then came a protracted and, for many, problematic silence. CDC officials hope that is coming to an end, but a pressing question remains: Can the agency reclaim its voice while avoiding political blowback from the White House? Can it find a way to communicate valuable scientific information after three muted months during which some substantive communications from the CDC came only in the form of leaks to the press?...

At the same time, it’s difficult to see Trump’s push to reopen churches, among other moves, as anything but political. As he has demanded to reopen the economy and restart campaign rallies, the CDC has uneasily stood by, sometimes offering gentle caution, sometimes saying nothing.

A spokesperson for the CDC appeared to validate the White House’s suspicion, saying that some within the agency were undermining its standing in Washington. The spokesperson — who could only speak frankly about the situation if granted anonymity — said they were “disappointed” by leaks from the CDC, referencing releases of information to news outlets that seemed to undermine, frustrate or complicate the official position of the administration.
“I hear where the White House is coming from,” the CDC spokesperson said, using with Yahoo News the same protection of journalistic anonymity that alleged CDC leakers have presumably used with other outlets.

Just days after the spokesperson spoke to Yahoo News, Politico reported that the White House was planning to blame the CDC for the administration’s shortfalls in handling the pandemic, which has killed close to 130,000 Americans...

The agency spokesperson told Yahoo News that if the CDC can “stick to the science,” it should be able to hold “regular and frequent” briefings. The spokesperson did make clear that Shuchat and Messonnier will almost certainly not be part of those briefings, which will be conducted by Redfield and so-called incident managers knowledgeable about specific aspects of the pandemic...
“Public health is always political,” says Curran, the former CDC official now at Emory University. “But public health should never be partisan in an epidemic.”

Also, were these payments designed to buy votes?

You need authorization to NOT send money to a dead person? Isn't it kinda common sense?

Hmm, I guess I just answered my own question, huh?

Maybe not a problem if “dead people” is modified to “brain-dead people”. After all, Democrats/Leftists may receive benefits just like anyone else.

Haven't received mine either. The IRS supposedly has a procedure whereby you can initiate an inquiry about the status of your payment. Of course, they also say it will take them at least 6 weeks to respond. Easier to just sit back and wait.
