At first I thought this announcement was about the 2024 campaign. Apparently he announced a run for 2020, which seems a little insane as the election is now four months away and it will take a herculean effort to get on any ballots.

So looks like this would be a write-in effort, which can really only hurt Biden. I believe Trump supporters are pretty much locked in at this point. But many Democrats who would normally just check the "D" box regardless of what candidate they have listed there, might throw a vote to Kanye. He is a popular guy, especially with the younger crowd.

I still think Kanye has his sights set on 2024 so this little stunt might just be to see how much support he has currently and how hard he'll have to work if he wants to be a serious candidate in 2024.
