Articles of Unity / Unity 2020 Campaign
Medium.com ^ | June 29, 2020 | Bret Weinstein

Posted on 07/05/2020 3:52:44 PM PDT by tinyowl

Searched and didn't find any posts on this yet.

Bret Weinstein brought this up on Tucker very recently. Tucker gave him the Tucker 'yeah, uh ... no, whatever' confused look.

I suspect we are going to be hearing about this, and I didn't see anything posted after searching 'unity2020' and 'unity 2020' and 'articles of unity'.

My analysis is that it's a lefty thing that could be originating out of a number of (or all) lefty circles for a number of reasons. It smells like a rat and it looks like where a rat would live. Maybe it's just bad, but not a rat.

Bret is not a conservative by any means. Medium, where someone pointed it out to me (the petition) is not conservative so far as I know ... but no idea.

So I guess they will run this thing up the flag pole. It will probably get some interest/traction masquerading as a libertarian type thing (I suspect it's lefty behind the curtains for many reasons, but might be wrong) since Bret runs with the Joe Rogan etc.youtube crew who I don't watch much but they do strike me as thinking that by not taking sides they are somehow without the stain of either side - and smarter than everyone! I'm not all that impressed by them.

Have it! (I smell a rat!)

“...Our human potential is being squandered. How many Albert Einsteins or James Baldwins will we forego due to the concentration of opportunity by rent-seeking elites?...”
*******************************************************
Einstein & James Baldwin? Yeah...sure, they’re intellection equals and both giants of Western Civilization. /gigantic sarcasm.

This writer is silly...at best!

This is a total load of crap. Bret Weinstein is a leftist who got turfed out of his academic position at Evergreen State by a demented commie mob for not being woke enough. Still Weinstein doesn’t have it in him to accept the truth about leftism. He wants to pretend the problem is ‘extremists on both ends.’ He won’t face the truth that the entire Democrat Party, the media, academia, etc. are all hateful, evil totalitarians who want to destroy America. Bret’s little game will go nowhere. It’s all based on weakness, cowardice, and lies.

That's one way of saying how I read it :-)

I didn't know if it was just coming out of a few individuals (or just him) or if it's got roots in any larger ... interests.

“Unity” is an age old piece of sheep’s clothing many wolves have worn.

Bret Weinstein, Howard Schulz, Mitt Romney and dozens of others catch one or two stories in the media and then disappear for a while.

How many such alleged moderate left are there? I don’t know. I live among tribal Democrats. They are conservative on guns, life, gays, school-choice, police. Some are police. They are moderate left on taxes and spending. Most preferred Biden over others in the Democrat primaries.

I cannot see any of them leaving Biden for a centrist. Those who leave Biden will go Trump or stay home.

How many Weinsteins-Schulz are there? I don’t know.

Yeah I'm listening to some of his stuff now.

He's remarkably native. Thinks the country is at odds with itself and some clarification from clear minds can make it all go away.

He doesn't understand that we are up against a radical agenda the wants to tear down America ... and that the REASON we are polarized is that one side is standing up against it. By 'one side' I don't mean the Republicans.

What he's advocating for is the uni-party -> and he doesn't realize it already exists.

This is a nativity born of the arrogance of a pure academic.

As someone pointed out earlier on this thread ... he missed the lesson of what happened to him at Evergreen. He took it to be an unfortunate result of disagreement between the left and right, which is like saying the sides in WW2 were morally equivalent but just didn't understand each other, and as a result, unfortunately, millions were killed.

He's basically a Neville Chamberlain.
