When I was last in Berlin in 1972, there was a subway station named Onkel-Toms-Hütte (Uncle Tom’s Cabin), which was named for a nearby bar and grill that opened in the 1880’s. The name was later given to a housing project built on the site. So far, it seems the name of this station has survived the onslaught of “cancel culture.”

Are the Leftists saying that "Uncle Tom's Cabin" was a bad book? Do they want to "cancel" it?

Well, I suppose that the book does portray slave-owners in a bad light, which might be seen as an overgeneralization, but still...
