I bought the domain at the end of February 2020, I thought that corona was going to explode. I had been thinking about building a data driven aggregate site for a while.
My site went live on May 3rd, before George Floyd. I built as an alternative to Drudge, that’s all. I used to visit drudge all the time, but the site was so annoying with the 2-minute auto refresh and obnoxious ads, I thought I could do it better from the technology side. Then along came G. Floyd, and all hell broke loose. I am burning the candle at both ends keeping site updated, working full time tech job, putting off the honey-do list etc.
Nice-looking site. You’re swimming upstream, given the way a 20+-year-old blog/social media site like Free Republic is sinking like a rock in the website rankings relative to new blog/news/social media sites like Breitbart, Town Hall, Red State, et al. But best of luck. I’ll be looking in every so often.
