I have farm friends north of Lovington, New Mexico who earlier this spring were visited on several occasions by low flying drones at night and who reported it to the local sheriff. This article indicates that the sighting was not unusual in that there have been many similar sightings in rural ranch and farm areas in Colorado and Kansas.
Ping.
Too bad no one captured a photo, given the omnipresence of smart phones.
What did your friends think this was?
Drone countermeasures for property owners sounds like a budding industry.
So, who are they?!
Really strange!
This is about swarms of hundreds of drones seen at one time in one place in may states - not military not civilian - user/users unknown. All investigations so far go nowhere. Since no laws were broken FBI and others cannot pursue. No known photos
I would think that a New Mexico rancher might just be inclined to shoot at a drone. It makes me wonder about the legaility of doing so. If someone is flying a drone over your property, is it legal to shoot it down? Would it matter if it was a “government” drone or a “private” drone? What rights do you have to airspace? I know a jetliner at 35000 feet is not a trespass. But a low-flying drone above your property? Seems WAY different to me. Enquiring minds want to know.
Military, without doubt. They kept the activity away from our military reservations like a large-scale test, but away so as not to trip a defensive response.
Fast-forward to the last couple weeks and we see stuff mysteriously blowing up in Iran. Almost like Colorado was a dress rehearsal, huh?
SSS.
I blame Nazis in Antarctica.
It wouldn’t be that hard for one controller to control a modified fleet of drones and make them fly in formation.
They don’t know, but they said the drones were concentrated over their livestock which are cattle and hogs. I sent them a link to the article last night.
“So, who are they?!”
-Cartels moving drugs
-Terrorist practicing for an attack
-Drone manufacturers doing R&D out in rural areas
-gov’t practicing on doing surveillance of public.
-groups of drone enthusiast getting together.
Could be anything
Swarms of militarized drones attacking an enemy position at night sounds like a great tactic, and would require lots of testing and practice. Why on inhabited land instead of at White Sands or such? Maybe to gauge how stealthy or noticeable they are over civilian populations.
You forgot:
- drones controlled by AI that has become sentient and is preparing to destroy humanity
“Several documents refer to local law enforcement officers hearing gunshots from the ground during several drone sightings. At the January 6 meeting, federal representatives advised local officials that it is a violation of federal law to shoot at an aircraft.”
I hate Antarctica Nazis.
Strangely, it almost seems as though they are always heading south in the fall and heading north in the spring...
There are many of us patriots here who stand ready to grab our shotguns and begin blasting away whenever they land nearby...
Dang military won't screw with us and get away with it!
“Just because they’ve apparently got noisy whirring propellers”
Described as totally silent in the article. But seems like I did hear a report at the time of drone-like noise(?).
Could be a business trying out a new product.
