You must have missed the part where I said “I completely understand having objections to using them, and I agree with those objections on moral grounds.”

But please, don’t let that get in the way of your continued infantile name calling.

I only remember reading articles saying that because fetal cells are hardwired to multiply very rapidly, they cause cancer and that is why they were allegedly replaced with adult stem cells in science.

I thought all medical use of fetal and embryoic stem cells was outlawed a long time ago. I was horrified when I read this and wonder how much it has to do with the number of cases of cancer in young adults and children.

"It's the same dilemma as if a useful drug was developed based on cadaver cells and it was later discovered that the cadaver was a murder victim."

Josef Mengele did a lot of horrific medical experiments on twins for the Nazis. After the war, there was a lot of debate about whether to use the research for good causes. That debate continues today.

Ultimately, I think the Catholic Church's guidance is at least reasonable (https://www.immunize.org/talking-about-vaccines/vaticandocument.htm). Basically, they said if any alternative vaccine is available that didn't use fetal stem cells, you have a moral obligation to seek it out and use it instead of ones created through immoral methods. If no alternative exists, you have to look to achieve the greatest good. For example, before the rubella vaccine, there were 5,000 spontaneous abortions each year due to infection. That's 5,000 lives lost. As there is no ethically derived vaccine for rubella in the United States, is it ethical to take what's available if it saves 5,000 unborn babies a year? The Vatican said it is.

Ultimately, as with all medical decisions, I think it falls to the PERSON to decide what is best for their body and their conscience. I am not in favor of forcing vaccination or other medical treatment on anyone.

“...but U.S. scientists have been using such cells for decades...”

So because they have been doing this “for decades” makes it right in their twisted minds?

This does not absolve them of their moral and ethical responsibility TODAY.

The little babies are in heaven . . . . the scientists need a Bible lesson.

EVIL. Anyone who buys or uses them is as guilty as the abortionist that murdered those babies.

“saying tissue that would otherwise be thrown out has played a vital role in lifesaving medical advances”

Right, Dr. Mengele: the Jews who would otherwise only be burned, might as well be used for medical experiments first, otherwise we might lose some important medical advances...

No, but you ARE trying to justify the murder and cannibalism of unborn children.

The article says that the immunization industry is threatened by the closure of abortion clinics. That’s today, not 50 years ago.

It’s wrong, period.

MOM MD......Watch "Vaxxed" and "Silent Epidemic" before you get to sure of your position. My nephew had his first grand mal seizure about 30 minutes after his first MMR vaccination. He was normal up to that point. He died @ 29 yo as a vegetable with CP. He had several seizures a day until his death.

Another friend of mine told her daughter not to immunize her son so young. She did and about an hour later he had 106 fever and was rushed to the hospital. They diagnosed some sort of lung disease and flooded him with antibiotics. They waited a day and sent him home still sick. He is still sick a week later. They don't want to admit it was the vaccination. He may be ruined for the rest of his life and they sent him home.

It's not about science, but it is about politics and money. Do you trust the government with your children?

First, no I am not trying to justify the use of stem cells. I’ve said, explicitly, several times now, that I have moral objections to that research.

Second, I didn’t read that in the article. I read that closure of abortion clinics threatened other research, for things like spinal cord injuries, blindness, and cancer. But maybe I missed something. Was there a specific quote that said the closure of an abortion clinic today threatened the development of vaccines? To the best of my knowledge, all cell lines used in vaccine development are decades old.

So before abortions were alowed, how were vaccines developed?

I vaccinated my children and am grateful my kids are vaccinating my grandkids. Go to third world countries where these diseases run rampant and try to sell your anti vaxx point of view and see how far you get

Good question. Have they ALWAYS required aborted fetal cells? If not, why MUST they use them now?

Theres a couple of cell lines generated from aborted tissue years and years ago they’re testing the virus on. Still kind of creepy but not like they’re dumping dead babies in a vat at this minute.

Then what on earth is Planned Parenthood selling aborted babies for?

That market exists for a reason and I don't believe they are not still doing it.

Then so be it. Maybe they should go back to making vaccines the old fashioned way.

In addition to the immoral nature of this, there are still very real questions about the safety of injecting trace amounts of human DNA into the system. The powers that be say there is unlikely to be any adverse effects, but there are doctors who believe the increase in autoimmune diseases may be connected. Of course, I don’t know what the truth is, but I am very concerned that absolutely any criticism or questioning of the vaccine industry is strictly forbidden by the mainstream and relentlessly mocked. We do need more open research about these issues, especially since we are talking about nearly 100% of children getting all or most of the dozens upon dozens of injections.
