I'm not saying things could get crazier in America than they have, but when the thugs and their political leaders want to shut down the police departments, and they have about a 50-50 chance of taking the Presidency of the U.S. in just a few months.

I'd say it's time to pray up, load up and look up.

The guy in the middle? One of my ARs is setup exactly like his, except I have a Nikon BDC scope.

True about the ugly political possibilities, and we need to focus on talking in subtle terms about freedoms with others in our communities between now and November (very soon!). But on the more technical side,...

Different kinds of rifles work better for different terrains, as mentioned at least a couple of times by Kevin. Longer rifles (velocity) with heavier barrels (barrel temperatures, whip) can be good assets when away from builtup areas (cities). Heavier bullets with greater ballistic coefficients can also offer an edge in places with higher visibility (distances), more foliage, breezes, etc.

But yeah, short, light rifles are all the rage. ;)

Personally, after having been trained with M-16s, I get more pleasure with a nice, sleek, light, bolt action rifle made for hunting, one round at a time. :)

I’m a big fan of Nikon BDC glass. It’s affordable, works well enough, and has a full lifetime warranty.

Western Rifle Shooters is a GREAT website. I’m so glad they got back up and running!

Yep, regardless of the outcome of the election, violence and aggression have been drastically cultivated and encouraged so it’s up to the 3% of us to get our shite together and prepare.
Prepare mentally, physically, spiritually, & financially. Should have gotten serious about this yesterday and better prepared today.

A local Walmart is clearing out some Savage Axis and Remington 700 rifles. They have the 700 with a scope rings etc. for $290. I am thinking of getting one since my only high powered rifles are an old 98 Mauser and a 96 Swedish Mauser.

I was leaning toward the .223 but read an article which said it has a one in 12 twist rate. OK for most loads but not the heavy bullets. I might finally get the .243. Just can’t seem to pull the trigger.
