Thank you so much for your reply.

Even during this ridiculous quarantine, the one thing we all have as FReepers is each other. And that means a lot.

If this border ever opens again, you are both welcome to visit. I live just across the Ottawa River from Ottawa, which is actually Canada’s capital. Many people think that it’s Toronto, but no. It’s in Ottawa.

And if you visit in the winter, if you like to skate, Ottawa has the world’s longest skating rink: the Rideau Canal. There are restaurants and places to warm up and get hot chocolate. It’s really a lot of fun.

So, Bienvenue! or, Welcome!

Julie :)

How kind of you and thank you, Julie!

From pictures and videos that I’ve seen of Ottawa, it looks absolutely beautiful.

Vice versa: You probably have no interest in coming to Alabama but, if you ever make it here, you are more than welcome to stay at my home. We can go to the Alabama Gulf Coast and chill out. IMO, the beach is heaven on earth. And the ocean breeze helps with the Alabama humidity, which can feel like Dante’s Seventh Level of Hell:)

Thanks for the kind reply, Julie. I have been feeling down and your post helped.

Yesterday, a cherished building that was part of my Alma Mater (High School) was destroyed by fire. I know it sounds an extremely petty thing to be sad about, but the building was the heart of our school and held many cherished memories for us. It was built in the 30’s and was very beautiful.

But, considering that our original High School burned down when I was a toddler, ourElementary School was damaged by fire ( once during school hours, that was interesting) and our High School gym was damaged by fire, another school fire shouldn’t have been shocking. We’re cursed, lol.

Of course, that’s not the only thing wrong; I guess you could say that was the last straw. Again, I know it sounds silly.

If you ever need an ear, just message me. I’m not the best at comforting people, but I’ll try:)

Thanks and have a great week!

Kristi
