I’m sure you don’t, but most of the rest of America does need someone to speak out .
Desperately.
Just let them play the sport.
They certainly aren’t role models for me, they are entertainment, like actors, singers, acrobats, skaters, race car drivers. Nothing more, nothing less!
I don’t pay them to say or act or anything other than that. Now if they insult me (and my dollar) then I’m outta there!
I love and revere my country and everything it stands for, including the flag (that all my male family and ancestors fought and died for) but I don’t insist others do the same, quietly and on their own time and dime.
If they don’t love our country, then it’s their loss and unless they make a big deal about it, I’m even ok with that but think they ought to go find another country they could be happy with.
However, if athletes or other paid entertainers chose to insult me and the rest of their audiences by showing off at their “freedom to flip me and everyone else off” by behaving in childish and insulting ways, then it’s time for them to leave and if their bosses (someone else I pay) tell me their team members have the “right to insult me, and I have to take it because I bought a ticket,”then it’s high time I fire everyone!
