In my public activities (until a few months ago, anyway) I occasionally am a/the Caucasian minority at dinner parties in $$ eateries.
Servers have on more than one occasion quietly brought out and disseminated dinner coupons, to perhaps encourage receiving a (sufficient) tip.

Two black teens on bikes surprised me by knocking on my car door window to “ask a question.”
We shouted through the window for them to leave us alone, started up the car, and drove away.
Black Lives Matter has taught me: Black people are too risky to be around. Even if most are fine, the probability of being harmed is higher, so leaving is smart.

I will say it again. A whole lot of parents deserve the blame for the downflow we are seeing. I went to a hard left college in the early 90s and I came out even harder right.
I had my pop for 14 years before he passed and if that was enough time to instill values in me for life then what is the excuse for these other parents? There is none. They weren’t there. Buying things is easier to ease the guilt they felt from not being a real parent.
