Will any of the Republicans have bothered to learn about any of this? Even if they did, will they ask any tough questions and then challenge dishonest or weasel-word answers? I will be surprised if they do.
Well, first of all - no, of course they won't.
But more importantly, what would it matter if they did? The Congress is not a law enforcement body. They can't convene grand juries, they can't issue indictments, they can't arrest, try, or punish anyone.
AND, all of the consequences in terms of justice being done that can come out of their stupid "hearings" are bad. They can tip off potential defendants to prosecution strategy. They can disclose information making it inadmissible in a real court. And, by making people sick of their constant preening and melange of confusing accusations, they open the door to the Hillary Clinton "old news/move on" defense.
Most of the time, I actually think the PURPOSE of these meaningless Congressional non-investigations are to do just that.
