Absentee is a registered voter requesting an early ballot.
People that often travel for business use them (I have) just to be sure they get to vote.
Some states or communities allow early
voting in person a couple weeks before
the election.Had to sign with my name
and address (don’t think I had to
show ID IIRC) at the one polling place in my city that had it—City Hall, Beverly
MA. I wasn’t even going to be out
of town on election day. It was the
general election in 2016 and I
voted Trump.
