Posted on 08/14/2020 11:42:46 AM PDT by Rumplemeyer

Is congressional approval required to allow mail in voting for Federal Elections.

TOPICS: Business/Economy
KEYWORDS:
Does NJ Governor Murphy require Federal permission for mail in ballots in this election. If we can shop at Walmart we can vote in person.

But minorities are unable to obtain debit or credit bank cards because they have no ID to open an account. They can’t use EBT cards at walmart because they have no ID to prove who they are. And even if they do they can’t make it to walmart on their own and have no friends to take dem there.

Well, in nevaDUH there must be a certain number of in person voting facilities available based on population of a given area according to the new rules put in place during the special legislative session last week.

I believe states are free to run their own elections. Feds can get involved in cases of racial discrimination, but other than that, it’s the states’ call.

Congress has no say in hiwca state administers it’s electoral system. Having said that, mail in balloting, except military personnel overseas, should not be allowed.

We need federal legislation outlining a US wide system that applies to all states to use for federal elections. Specifying who can vote, required citizenship documentation, and local house to house precinct residency registration verification. Performed by a bi-partisan canvassed confirmation team. And No provisional, mail in, or same-day ballot issuance permitted. .

No as the constitution delegates all elections to the specific state as to how they conduct them. That means it would be 50 different laws regarding mail-in ballots.

Article IV, Section 4 of the US Constitution states:

The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.”

The first question raised here would be “Does mail-in voting undermine a Republican Form of Government?”

I would say it depends. If mail in voting is used by the powers that be to remain in power by depriving voters who would remove them of an effective vote, the answer is yes. If mail in voting is used to allow a vote to those who would not otherwise be able to vote, as in military personnel overseas, the answer is no.

The next question is: “Who backs up the guarantee?” The Constitution doesn’t say. It mentions the Congress in two other sections of the Article, but not this one. If somebody took it to court, ultimately the Supreme Court would. If no one took it to court, perhaps the Congress or the Executive could back up the guarantee, but I don’t know how that would work. Maybe they could pass a law laying out the procedure for mail in voting so that mail in voting did not interfere with “a Republican Form of Government”.

The RATs know that their people are too lazy to show up in person. Makes it harder to fake enough ballots to win!

Voting requirements and policing are, I believe, totally up to the States.
