Question: What is the best conservative speech given?

Posted on 08/23/2020 3:32:16 PM PDT by cann

In your opinion what is the best conservative speech given? It can be from any time period.

For me, A Time for Choosing" by Ronald Reagan would be in the top 10 as well as Goldwater's 1964 Acceptance Speech.

Thanks, I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Was Washington’s Farewell Address a “conservative” speech?

Trump’s “Our movement is about replacing a failed...” sppech in October 2016. To me, this is THE greatest speech in American history.

Since 1906, there have been several prescient conservative speeches on the dangers of Marxism to the United States...

Every one of them was ignored...
Every one of them has turned out to be true...

My favorite was Ronald Reagan's speech in support of Barry Goldwater... He nailed our future, as it is currently unfolding, precisely... We are already 20-years into his predicted 1000-years... Which implies that the good news is that things may get better in 980-years,,,

Your criteria are rather broad, but in the spirit of the current political climate I'm going to go with this one...

I don’t know much about speeches, but as far as “lines” go — the first one that comes to mind is Reagan’s “Mr. Gorbechev, tear down this wall.” And the second one is (I know this will possibly get me flamed) is when GWB in his inaugural said that Americans were “citizens, not serfs.”

My runner up

And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man.

Reagan, Rendezvous with Destiny, 1964. If you haven’t read it, you will enjoy it.
