I honestly hope it is a massive success. It will take a lot of hard work, a lot of money, and quite a bit of time, but it can be done if the people are motivated and stay motivated. If it works, other go-getters will do the same. I would not recommend a “compound” or “commune” kind of set up (I can’t tell from this article if that’s the idea or not), as communes almost always fracture and fall apart. If it’s open open access town, it could succeed. Good luck fellow Americans.
I believe that people have the right to live where they want to live...and with who they want to live. I don’t believe the government should force integration...whether it is a white neighborhood or black neighborhood.

Sorry, but they aren't "good black familes" if they are importing a crime wave to the neighborhood.
I think it would be awesome if they succeed at this.
Don’t get me wrong, I think their chances of success are pretty slim. Most intentional communities fail. But I still wish them the best of luck.
They are at least doing it the right way, by purchasing the land themselves and building the community they want, instead of demanding things be given to them, or trying to force their will on people who want no part of it.
Whatever the outcome, it will be an interesting experiment.

People want to live amongst their own kind. That’s just human nature, it’s not a racist thing at all.
They seem to have an expectation that there will be no crime there. If they don’t that would be great. But I wouldn’t hold out hopes for long.
letting recently released felons “come to stay” is a dumb move, IMHO. (depending on the felony, of course)
