DuPage County home invasions
Malik Pitts was awaiting trial for a separate charge when he cut off his ankle bracelet back in June to elude police,
Police said that's when the second suspect entered the home holding a handgun and directed the victims to walk toward the back of the home. Once inside, one of the men entered a bedroom where two young girls and their grandmother were sleeping.
Authorities said one of the men attempted to pull down the blanket and shorts of one of the girls.
The man hit the 74-year-old grandmother and fought with the girls' father, police said.
A similar situation was reported in nearby Lombard 40 minutes later. Police said a man pointed a gun at one of the residents and said "where's the money?" before going to an upstairs bedroom, where a mother and daughter were sleeping in the same bed. One of the men ordered them to the main floor of the home, then ordered the daughter to the basement and told her to remove her clothing, authorities said.
When the girl refused and fled, prosecutors said her father struggled with her attacker. At one point, police said one of the suspects fired shots that struck the father in the chest, went through him, and ultimately struck the other suspect as well.
Doctors said the resident did not suffer any life-threatening injuries.

How did this crew elect thier targets? They are not from the immediate area.
Both homes had young females present.
???
The driver appears to be female.
This is why you should always have a loaded gun handy.
You have a fire extinguisher for fires, think of a gun as the extinguisher for home invasions.
Nothing else will do.
Yeah but the police are only minutes away!-sarc
Can they make a monitor with c-4 in it such that when cut off it explodes?
Mug shot looked as I expected.
Round struck the resident In the chest, pass through him instruct the other perpetrator. The resident was not injured.
WTF?
An even bigger question is how did the bullets (plural) go through the father's chest, exit and hit the second perp, without causing life-threatening injuries?
I don't really care if the injuries to the second perp were life threatening, in fact I hope they were, but how did the victim of the invasion and shooting escape harm?
WTF is right. Either the writer has trouble conveying what happened or that resident is a lot tougher than I’ll ever be.
It is possible for a bullet to just go under the skin on the surface of the chest and exit without ever entering the chest cavity.
The fact that alarms aren't screaming in the licensed company's control room and nearest police precinct are testimony that the legal system doesn't care to protect the citizens who pay for it.
One way to stop this apathy in the legal system is to connect the monitor to a phone app where the individual is bonded and when they cut the monitor it's open season on them for opportunistic bounty hunters, with all the loss of rights for someone with a rescinded bond.
My first guess at your question:
They or one of the burglars knew the young girls living in the home by way of Social Media.
Party A. has been bragging or complaining to Party B. about how their lives are now going. Neither Party has ever met before.
Hood messing around in the burbs. Wheaton and Lombard are docile, livable western suburbs of Chicago. They keep doing that and they are going to run into some nasty shotgun wounds.
Chicago ankle monitors are notorious for not working.
>>>An even bigger question is how did the bullets (plural) go through the father’s chest, exit and hit the second perp, without causing life-threatening injuries?<<<
Ask John McClane.
Or Marshall Dillon
“They or one of the burglars knew the young girls living in the home by way of Social Media.”
Most likely.
Thank you.
This not far from my AO in once conservative DuPage.
Also gaining in frequency.
You don’t have to be a weatherman...
The perps are being held in Dupage County, two of them without bail, the third one with a $500,000 bond (so, he’ll stay in custody!).
Dupage County is not Cook County or Chicago. It was not too long ago sold red, but the recent influx of liberals from Chicago fleeing the mess they themselves had created is having a negative affect on this once bucolic area. But Dupage County is home to several gun stores, two of which are within a mile of my home; there is also a nearby gun range. The Dupage Sheriff’s Office is top-notch, as is the sheriff, who is a no-nonsense kind of guy. The local police departments are also very good. Bad guys from Chicago coming out this way with criminal attempt will not find the pickings so easy.
Yes, Dupage used to be solid republican as did my Lake Co. but as you say the Chicago porta potty tipped over and contaminated the collar counties.
