Disgraced Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes may argue that she was suffering from a 'mental disease' when she allegedly defrauded investors out of hundreds of millions of dollars with her fake blood testing technology.
The tentative plan for a so-called insanity defense was revealed on Wednesday when the US District Court in San Diego ruled that experts selected by the prosecution could examine Holmes.
Judge Edward Davila authorized the examinations after Holmes' lawyers said they intended to introduce expert evidence from a clinical psychologist 'relating to a mental disease or defect or any other mental condition of the defendant bearing on the issue of guilt'.

    She’s a psychopath. That’s hardly a get-out-of-jail card.

This is the company “Mangy Dog” Mattis was associated with.
It was a total sham.

Rofl!! I love your posts :-)
I’ve been mentally unstable since 14 :)
But every single wrong thing I did I knew was wrong when I did it.
And I paid some heavy prices in my life.
There’s a price you pay for the wrong things you do.
I think every school child in America should have to watch the speech Rocky gives his son in the movie “Rocky Balboa”
One small part. “if you know what you’re worth then go out and get it, but you have to be willing to take the punches and not blaming him, her or anybody!! cowards do that and that ain’t you!”
She is obviously a coward and she sickens me

LOL. I was thinking same. Maybe Twinkle Toes Mattis will be a character witness for this fraudster.

There is a book”Bad Blood”.I just read it.Evil Lady.Mad Dog became a top gun there and some people were drawn into investing because of his name. She claimed to be able to get blood results in the field with wounded soldiers at war with a small machine. His presence on her board kind of sealed the deal it was true.It was all lies.

This looks to be the reason Mattis acted up. Liz may have plea bargained to nail all the others.

How much of it was his fault though? The problem was that the scientific process didn’t work, but shouldn’t the two scientist board members Bonanni and Foege be responsible for that?

This info explains a lot, imo:
“Elizabeth Holmes was born in Washington, D.C.[11]
“Her father, Christian Rasmus Holmes IV, was a vice president at Enron, an energy company, after which he held executive positions in government agencies such as USAID, the EPA, and USTDA.[16][17]
“Her mother, Noel Anne (Daoust), worked as a Congressional committee staffer.”

He's has not been charge as far as I know. They lied and said they were using it on the battlefield.Having Mad Dog gave the investors a feeling it was true. Many tried to blow the whistle but her connections were too big.It ended up on someones desk and they didn't know the back story and started a process. That how she got caught plus a good reporter.

I never got how people would believe her without testing it.She was heavily involved with the Dems. She banked on getting it to work and that never happened.

The idea that people make decisions and should accept the consequences is out of fashion.
I wasn’t always such a gripy old cynic ;-).
