Ozzy once said “i dont really understand politics and politics doesnt understand me”
Simple as that
I know right... What’s he gonna do when 5000, or 6000 cars are riding down the city street all playing the same song out of their windows.
Once wanted government out of his life, now he wants it to dictate it.
I don't know if he has or hasn't but that doesn't mean he won't keep trying. He destroyed the band's image when he testified before Congress defending artistic expression, and who would that benefit the most? I'm sure he'd go again if they asked him to defend Cuties now.
Be appreciative that he will be getting his biggest royalty check since 1985?
How did that destroy his band's image? His band was already irrelevant by then.
Add a verse, same tune:
“We don’t need permission,
NO! We don’t need permission!
We won’t ask permission, anymore!”
Hey Mr. Rebel Rocker,
How do you like being rebelled against?
Eastern European Halloween 🤭
“Cousin IT” in the Back?
.
Maybe a preteen boy.
What are the chances twisted sister is now in a high risk comorbidity group?
Take it sister.
John Denver had several DUIs after the hearings and died in 1997. Interestingly, the PMRC etc also though Denver would testify in favor of their stance (he basically accused them of being Nazis). In contrast, Zappa toured in 1988 with a killer band (I saw him that tour) though that tour imploded in Europe due to personnel problems. Frank died more popular than ever.
Dee Snider: It’s a protest song
Also Dee Snider: Don’t use our song for protests
Dee Snider’s bandmates were horrified by his testimony. They had worked so hard to be seen as the voice of the rebellious then he sits down and starts talking about how they have all of the same values as any other family. Their hardcore fans who looked up to them now saw them as posers. They blamed him, not their music, for the drop in sales. I believe there was an episode of VH1 Behind the Music that went into a lot of detail on that period of the band’s history.
As a practical matter he can’t do jack about this.
You’re really going to sue some secretary who pulls down $38K per year for copyright infringement? If you do the PR blowback will destroy you.
Let’s forget him better still.
I had forgotten about those hearings. Where is Tipper Gore now? Consigned to the dustbin of history methinks.
In other news, bad boy rockers turn into faggoty little Karens. Film at 11.
What’s funny is when Zappa was on Crossfile, it was the “Liberal” Tom Braden, that attacked Zappa, while the “Conservative”, Robert Novak, actually agreed with Frank on some things.
"And he can't even run his own life, I'll be damned if he'll run mine."
