The commentator ruminates like this for many, many words, trying to fill up his allotted space.

He reviews a book about the Shroud and compares the controversy with the Russia Hoax - deeming both to be settled science.

In short, I believe what I believe and nothing written or spoken will change my beliefs.

Another broken writer from the ash heaps of history, the local newspaper.

Even lies can be true if you ‘believe’ them...that doesn’t mean they’re true.

“The shroud is [impressed] with the image of the body of a gaunt, bearded man with long hair.”

I knew it was over right there since if the writer can’t get that part right, there’s not much hope for him anyway.

The Shroud is not “impressed”, nor has it been “wrapped” around a model. The method described as a way to fake the Shroud won’t work because the Shroud has nothing soaked into the fabric.

The image sits only on the surface of the fabric, set there by a very short burst of extremely bright light.

I’ve often wondered if comparisons have been run between the Shroud image and the image on Juan Diego’s cloak left by Our Lady of Guadalupe.
