Are they still enforcing these stupid "swim lanes"? At my local Safeway they are no longer being taken seriously. People just walk wherever.
Funny thing, though. I've found some people are standing closer to me in line than the were before all of this mask nonsense. Whee.

The stress-and-idiocy-to-groceries-ratio at TJ's just isn't worth it.
I go to the bigger stores (Safeway, Lucky, etc.) where there's more choice and more physical space, and it's almost normal except for the mask stuff. People are getting more relaxed, it's true.

This is emblematic, and is exactly what the Left wants. As in Orwell’s 1984, they want people to self-regulate their “thoughtcrime”. Don’t even need to bring the state into it.
I was in Northern Maine last month for a week, and it was great-no Black Lives Matter, No Hate Here, In This House or even any Biden signs. People did or didn’t wear masks, and nobody cared.
When we drove south, we came to a city which I used to like (Belfast) and as you got close to the town, all those signs above started to appear, as did the masks and dirty looks.
My wife wanted to go shopping, but since this whole mask thing started, I don’t even want to be around people, so while she shopped, I took a folding chair and a book and set up shop in a grassy park near the waterfront, about 10 yards from a walking trail and nobody within 20 yards of me.
Reading my book, two women walked by, ten yards away on the walking path, and one of them shouted “You should be wearing a mask!”
All I could do was shake my head.
Then, when I packed up and went to where my wife had the car, I was loading my car and someone asked me (because of my Navy cap) “Are you military?” and when I turned and said yes, ex-Navy, the fat guy with his morbidly obese wife said “If you were in the military, why do you own a Japanese car?” after which she piped in.
I was so steaming mad I could barely speak for several hours.
Point is, this asinine mask BS pushed by the Left seems to have emboldened people to stick their uninvited and unwanted stinking noses into all areas of other people’s lives.
I have gotten to the point I barely want to even go out into public places. Seeing the sheep-like stupidity of my fellow Americans is disheartening and dispiriting, and having them stick their effing noses into my business really makes me want to tear into people to whom I likely wouldn’t even have given a thought to in the past.
Yesterday I went to the beach to watch big waves on Cape Cod. The surf was stirred up to an unusual degree by Hurricane Teddy, some 400 miles out in the Atlantic.
The wind was blowing 30 mph, gusting to 45 or 50.
More than half of the surf-gazers had masks on, outside, with plenty of spacing, in those conditions! Amazing.
That is winning. :)
I tell people that a mask won’t stop a 10 micron fart so how will it stop a 1 micron COVID molecule. The numbers are inaccurate but they are to stupid to know it.
