Five years of federal time for the postal employee. Technically per piece; hopefully for the soon to be former employee those were delivery point sort trays and not pull downs from a rural case as if there's any accountables in there, the penalty goes up.

When you become an employee, you sign a statement acknowledging and accepting this penalty.

oh, yes. It IS a crime. Whether misdemeanor, felony, or merely a “violation of the USPS reg’s doesn’t really matter.

The USPS union members “might” investigate, but they don’t really care. And, even IF investigated, and IF the guilty USPS employee can be identified, and IF that USPS employee is arrested, charged, and even jailed ... So what? There aer 25,000 BLM-Antifa-democrat voters (er, rioters) arrested in the northwest, and a demcorat DA let them all go.
