Love Can Make You Happy by Mercy

Read the comments on this song by Mercy. Here’s one of them:
“Someone mentioned that this song peaked at #2 in June of 1969. At that time I had just completed my first year as a Midshipman at the US Naval Academy. My girl friend was visiting Annapolis and staying at what was called a “drag house”, a home where people rented rooms to visiting girl friends (USNA was male-only then). She and I were in her room , uh, “visiting”, when this song came on the radio. There was a cool breeze blowing the curtains and an aroma of honeysuckle filling the room. Talk about a song transporting you to a pleasant time. This one does it for me every time.”
