We have been seeing them for years on our farm. I live near the town of Athens, as in the Battle of Athens, and there was one wandering around town a few days ago. They have also been seen in Knoxville. We are so close to the mountains that it’s inevitable that we have them.

My little dogs are house dogs and are never outside after dark without me. They also have a 5’ fenced yard but I keep an eye on them even during the day. The Coyotes we have here are not only nocturnal. We see a lot of them during the day. The wolf in them I guess. When I take the dogs walking on the farm I carry a gun. You never know what you might find when you get out of site of the house.

My cat 🐱 was was grabbed right next to me early one morning by a coyote before I could react. It sped off with her screaming for me to save her and I was in utter horror. Two hours later she came back severely sounded with a punctured lung. The vets wanted to put her to sleep but I took her home and miraculously she survived over time and much attention. That was three years ago and she's doing fine. I hate those f ing things. I know it's only their natural behavior, but living in the center of town here I'm reluctant to blow them away, but I will, even if I get arrested or fined. I now only let her out from about 9 am to 5 pm but I've seen them wander through in broad daylight. Just think if a mother had her little baby in a cradle on the deck, just for a moment to get sun. Even if she's right there, I wouldn't put it past them to try to snatch it. Stupid gun activists. Years ago we didn't have this problem. They've gotten so good knowing nothing's going to happen to them. Kind of like those Antifa and BLM bastards. We need to roll back all gun restrictions and declare open season.
