I worked at TB for a summer in the mid 60s. Yes, we had a Bell Burger, two burritos, red and green, tacos, a tostada and a cup of frijoles. Everything on the menu was 19¢. You could fill up with four burritos and a Pepsi (no Coke!) for a buck.

I happened to be in a Taco Bell when a corporate (what did she call herself?) new food items testing and approval person of some stripe, anyway, I asked given their ‘beyond the bun’ ad campaign, if there was any hope they’d ever reinstate the Bell Beefer?

Nope. Not now not ever.

*sigh*

I fondly remember those times. Made a gun show run from Oceanside, CA to Yuma, AZ one afternoon. By time I got down there, my stomach was stuck to my backbone. Pulled into a TB and for $1 got five burritos. Ate like a king.
