That's a shame.

I spent a lot of time on Oceanside Beach during the early 1980s when I was stationed at Camp Pendleton. Used to walk there from my barracks at 21 Area.

Good memories there. They had a decent library as well.

When I was 7 in 1955 my Mom and Aunt took my cousins, sister and I on a beach camping trip to Oceanside. Just before we got there our ‘54 Ford died. Not long later a nice Marine stopped and diagnosed the problem as a bad fuel pump, went and bought a new one and returned with tools and got us back on the road. Been a Marines fan ever since!
