It’s a horrible thing that happened, senseless destruction.
I knew nothing of Saint Agatha and now I know about her and her suffering.
Yeah, I am willing to bet they are mohammedans. I hope these animals are put away for a long time.
::May the pure evil perpetrators roast in Hell.::

I second that.
Although the main body of St. Agatha was buried at the Church of the Abbey of St. Agatha in Catania, her relics is at Church of St. Agatha al Collegio in Caltanissetta which the Church dedicated to her is the one vandalized.
Main body? Did she have a spare?
“Then whose body with the hanging arm was in the photo from the article?”
There’s nothing about that “body” that looks real to me - which is probably why “body” is in quotes in the article.
This is Sicily. I don't think they are going to make it to a trial. There are certain "families" that will make sure they have an "accident" while awaiting trial.
The reason incorruptibles are put on display is simply due to the fact that they are INCORRUPTIBLE. It is an anomaly that Christians have taken note of. Some saints have particular body parts that did not corrupt as in indication of the particular heroic virtue that they embodied.
St. John Vianney’s heart did not corrupt (I’ve seen it). St. Joan of Arc’s heart was found in the ashes incorrupt. Saint John Nepomucene’s tongue was found incorrupt because he would not violate the great seal of confession. There are many other examples.
They have been chemically preserved. Jeez, no wonder people here have a negative opinion of you.
The Confederacy wasn’t composed of choir boys. But I never advocated destroying or vandalizing their statues.
You want to venerate them, buy a piece of private property and put them on it.
Throw this asshole in the Tiber.
Oh no, you are mistaken.
I am universally beloved and cherished by one and all.
