A guess: She was afraid he’d take her gun.

I thought I read here on FR a few months back that a man with a knife can cover 20 feet and connect in 2 seconds or less.

This is why in some advanced shooting courses you are taught to shoot at the groin/hip area.

The perp will fall immediately for follow-up at leisure.

Once any part of the hip bone is shattered, further advance is not possible.

See my post #25 on the hip shot.

It should be the very first bullet out of the gun.

He shoulda been shot when he reached in that grass and they couldn’t see what he was doing.

I thought the same. He could have pulled anything out of there. A pistol, a rifle, a shotgun.

I had a martial arts school and one of my partners was a cop. He showed me a video called “Edged Weapons” and in that video a safe distance from someone with a knife, with your gun still in the holster is 21 feet. And they show you with someone holding a rubber knife at 5 ft., 10 ft., 15 ft., 20 ft., and they all get stabbed. 21 feet was the safe distance from someone who knows how to handle a knife.

Ten round clip would have been a different story.

There is noting wrong with a 9mm with proper defense ammo.

It’s a good a deadly round.

A .40 or .45 would have made no difference.

A 9mm with a good 125gr hollow point will push a 1 inch hole clean through you.

She certainly had no command presence. Parroting the male officers commands, and sounding like she was telling a child to behave.

The CPD need to go back to .357 magnums and .45 calibers bullets that won’t take 15 rounds to drop a man...15 rounds is a damn waste of money.
