Anytime two adults wind up in a bar fight there is a decent chance one of them will end up dead.

I had a friend whose cousin was up on manslaughter charges because he slugged a guy outside a bar who fell back, hit his head on the curb and died of a hemorrhage. He wasn’t convicted.

You are absolutely correct. I’m retired law enforcement and have responded to situations just like that. I tend bar part-time now and witnessed this type situation. I had two mildly inebriated customers get into an argument which led to pushing and shoving. They were aware of the rules about fighting in the bar. They mutually agreed to take it outside. their friends tried to dissuade them and keep them apart. They were determined to have it out. Outside the punches started flying. One guy took a punch to the side of his head, fell down sideways and hit his head on the curb. Dead-right-now. The guy that threw the punch was charged but eventually was plead down and he was sentenced to a long probation period. Civil law suit is still pending.

Bar fights are a bad idea. The winner goes to jail. The loser goes to the hospital or the morgue.
