The CDC Covid-19 numbers were finally cleaned up to reflect reality at which point the survival rate for most age brackets was revealed to be 99.5%, at which point the MSM started quoting other organizations with dire computer modeled predictions.

I’m going to respectfully disagree with you on this. I’m not saying that there hasn’t been a leftist power grab, especially in U.S. states led by leftists. But I do think the Chinese virus is more than just that.

Netanyahu is hardly a leftist and he’s shut Israel down for the holidays. Boris Johnson is only now allowing Britain to open up and they are still keeping parts of the nation on lock down and talking about keeping restrictions going for the rest of the year. France, Spain, & Italy are also looking at shutting down again.

This is a new virus that has the potential to do a lot of harm. Happily it hasn’t been as deadly as first predicted and it seems to be much more deadly for the older amongst us. It also appears to be able to distinguish between ‘mostly peaceful’ protesters and attendees at Trump rallies and churches.

I don’t know, but if I had to guess, many, deaths from flu also had underlying conditions—especially if you count being overweight, or being an ex-smoker, or having a weakened immune system as being an underlying condition.

My wife’s friend’s husband is dying from a lung disease. Right now he’s in a hospice. But he’s in the hospice because he and his whole family have tested positive for the Wuhan/China virus. No doubt if he dies, it will be counted as a Wuhan virus death. The Wuhan has made peoples’ deaths occur sooner rather than later.

I remember the day this happened!!

We were on a briefing thread (that I can’t find, now.....Grrrrr) and heard it, live.

Several of us were commenting about it.....wondering why a bigger deal wasn’t being made about it....by other FReepers AND POTUS/news, etc.

It’s like it got quickly buried.

One FReeper (apologies, I can’t recall name) even said the name of the bald guy, that Roberts busts out of door telling this too. I can’t remember the bald guy’s name, either....some famous news photographer, IIRC.

If you have Covid and are over 80, your chances of dying from it are 13%. If you are over 80, your chances of dying are 13% — from all causes. So whether you have Covid or not, if you are over 80, your chances of dying remain the same — which means that you are no longer dying from obesity, heart disease, lung disease, other comorbidities — and as Dr. Birx early pointed out, if you simply have the virus, you are adjudged to have died from the virus. That is true for all the age categories.
