Little does the Sinator remember history where the colonials already had firearms the equivalent of an armed army at there disposal.
Where did the colonials get their munitions to conduct the American Revolution ? Ostensibly, the colonies had arms to defend against an armed army of native American Indians, brigands, and to defend themselves.
That is also why we had an armed militia of other folks, of family, neighbors, friends, and neighboring communities for community defense.
Where did the colonials get their artillery and firearms ?
They already had them !
Do we now have armed invaders who threaten out livelihood and existence ?
Answer this : Do we now have BLM, break-in residence thieves, burglars, thieves, and armed anarchists within our gates,
threatening our lives, our families, and our existence ?
Yes we do ! And the only thing that stops them is an armed, and responsible, and polite society.
If you take away our self-defense, then you are exposing the society and culture to threats of forcible change, power, intimidation, and corruption.
The Second Amendment stays put as a "God given right" for self-defense, as intended by the Founders.
