A WOMAN hacked into her ex’s Alexa device to scare off his new girlfriend from 130 miles away, a court heard.
Philippa Copleston-Warren, 45, allegedly used the virtual assistant to order the girlfriend to pack up and leave — which she did in floods of tears, it was said.
She also allegedly used the device to flash the house lights on and off.
Copleston-Warren, is also accused of hacking into her ex’s Facebook account and uploading nude pictures.
Prosecutor Misba Majid told Westminster magistrates the couple had recently split after two years.
She said the businessman was targeted at his Lincolnshire home last Monday by management consultant Copleston-Warren, of Chelsea, West London.
Miss Majid said: “The defendant spoke through the Alexa account to tell the complainant’s friend in the property to leave and to take her stuff.
"She also used the Alexa to turn the lights on and off."
“This so distressed the girlfriend it caused her to cry and she left.”
Copleston-Warren denies two counts of disclosing private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress.
She was granted bail on condition she does not contact the man and is due to appear at Isleworth crown court on November 5.
Nude pictures of that? ON PURPOSE?

I am not condoning this knucklehead and I hope he gets rapped — and good - by the law.
But if he uploaded nude pictures of her he had to have taken them. No fool like an old fool (her), I suppose.

Ex-”what”? Husband? Boy toy? Philatelic collecting partner?
Just using “ex” means nothing these days, as the meaning of “date” and “fiancee” has changed dramatically.
And “cheating” is used when there is no marriage, which to me isn’t “cheating” at all, as no real commitment has been made.
I lean towards not guilty.
She probably had his password. He should have changed it a skinny minute before the breakup.

She is obsessively controlling! That’s probably why he dumped her in the first place. “Where were you? With whom? What was she wearing? Did you two get it on together or what? How many times? Which positions?...Etc, Etc.”
Agree. My daughter, who has been married for 4 years now, constantly refers to her “ex” even though she is in her first marriage. In her mind, the boyfriend that she lived with for 3 years is her ex. My advice to her has been constant. 1) he is not your ex because not only did you never marry him, you were never engaged and 2) after all these years why do you still even talk about him.

Guys beware. Never treat a gal poorly - especially if she is an expert hacker. LOL
She’s smart and she actually looks quite good.

Another reason NOT to use Alexa and similar voice activated systems.
I give her an A+ for creativity and resourcefulness.
She’s 45? I would have guessed sixty-something.
