Hey now, I cooked a big pot of Vegetable Beef soup this afternoon. And I'm not a girl! I don't even identify as one.
LOL - If I want to eat, I have to cook. At least sometimes. And since I work weird shifts, I like to cook in bulk. A big pot of soup is good for 5 meals.
I do most of the cooking at my house. My wife asked “ why does it take you so long to cook?” . I replied “ because I care what it tastes like”. That’s when the fight started.
Right on brother.
I got kitchen gear; wood cook stove, induction cookers, air fryer, pressure cooker, cast iron, copper/ceramic pans, stainless chef and butcher knives and a knife steel.
I like to cook Cajun, Chinese, Thai, Indian, and of course All American comfort food.
We also have ready access to fresh scallops, live clams and lobster.
Sliiiiiiide!!!!!!
(She seems to like my cooking.

I identify, brother.
I was Army for over 20 years, 14 of those with Special Ops. I was deployed A LOT! Had to cook a lot for myself, and of course we had our occasional Bar-B-Ques. The per diem we got to eat at restaurants was good, but that food will get you fat quick. Also got tired of Ramen, frozen pizzas, etc. Did some cooking research. Ate well after that.
Was home on a break one time and was making a roux for a pan sauce to go with the steaks. Wife unit asked what I was doing. Didn’t say too much, but after dinner she asked where I learned to make that sauce. Told her an army cook showed me a few things (white lie). Ended up showing her. I’m retired now; we make each other gourmet meals and almost never go to a restaurant without critiquing the chef (to ourselves, of course).
