The first time I heard a “theory” about the moon landing was during the Apollo 11 mission. I was working at the Manned Spacecraft Center (later Johnson). I was in an “ice-house” on Old Galveston Road when a guy walked in and said it was all happening at White Sands in New Mexico.

Here’s a myth for NASA to debunk.
Challenger should never have flown on January 28, 1986 as NASA knew that:
1) There were pinched o-rings on the right side SRB.
2) The cold weather would amplify the SRB seal issue of which there were numerous clear examples from previous flights.
3) The weather was completely outside of the approved flight envelope for the shuttle.
4) Despite the warnings and knowledge of the critical situation NASA Hq decided to proceed with the launch as they knew that it would please President Reagan to be able to use the “teacher in space” reference during his State of the Union address.
Debunk that.
