Rest in peace, Sean. I am going to rewatch “The Man who would be King” today. Maybe some others.

Wow. My dad died three months ago at 90. I didn’t know they were the same age.
I really liked that guy (both of them).
They both lived in an amazing time and checked out just before it got, um, interesting.

I just watched Zardoz again a few months ago. I enjoyed it a lot more as an adult. When I first saw it I was too young. All I cared about was the tits.
The movie is flawed, but the story really is great and I think he did a great job even in that one.

RIP and condolences to his family. Yes, he was the one and only James Bond. Everyone after was a poor substitute.

I have to confess that I’ve posted a few times where I search and don’t find posts, then later I do. I’ve found the most reliable way to search for articles in FR is through google and add “freerepublic” to what I’m searching for. It will sometimes (and that word is the key) find stuff that a FR search will not. It’s weird.
It’s also why I cut guys that claim to have done a search some slack. I’ve been that guy.

Had no idea he was 90.
Hollywood just doesnt make male stars like that anymore.

To: SES1066
I just saw the others and did another search with no hits. FR search can be strange.

Just getting the good guys out of the way for 2021, when all hell (literally) breaks loose. This is not the first time I’ve sort of envied a person at their death. He’s like a Polish Jew in Warsaw that dies in August of 1939. But I’m hacking the thread.
I was very impressed with Connery’s work, even beyond Bond. In fact, DEFINITELY beyond Bond. His biography is seriously interesting.

Just watched a mediocre effort of his last night. Outland a sci-fi version Of High Noon. Well not really. He played ONiel (sometimes ONeil) a Marshall on the mining colony on the moon Io. Forgettable.
