Toto?
lol.
when you look up their members, their last names (lukather, Porcaro, Paich) read like a who’s who of rock all-stars. They’ve been all over the place. I’m not keen on Africa because it’s overplayed, but will defend it because the left now hates it. I hate the name Rosanna, but think the song is OK. Hold The Line is awesome, Georgie Porgy is really, good, too.
I Love Asia! Especially Africa.

So did Frank Zappa, so I’ll take Zappa as the last word on Toto for the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame.
I thought you just sucked in Africa
“Et tu, Toto”?
I love Africa, overplayed or not. Also, I’ll be Over You... LOVE the Michael McDonald bits.
The rock and roll hall of fame sucks, In have been there but the fact that the insipid band Toto was never inducted does not keep me up at night.

Yacht Rock, but nonetheless a talented and well-produced band.
And yeah I have been to Africa, Libya, Tunisia and we are fighting there now

They have some hits that got a lot of airplay. Let them in! And Pete Rose, too!
Oh my Lord! Imagine how many people won’t be able to sleep tonight knowing that Toto isn’t in the RnR Hall of Fame! Talk about Hugh and Series!!!
Toto’s Steve Lukather is an amazing guitarist with a blazing, hot style featured on more than 1500 studio tracks of other musicians.
Fun fact: he played lead on “Beat It” although EVH had the solo and most of the “Thriller” album.
SL also played lead on Randy Newman’s “I Love LA”
SL named by Gibson Guitar Corporation as one of the Top 10 session guitarists of all time.
Wiki:
Jeff Porcaro, who had been playing drums with Steely Dan since 1973, became a mentor to Lukather and furthered his interest in session work.
Lukather’s first job in the music industry was studio work with Boz Scaggs, after which Paich and Jeff Porcaro—who had become prominent session musicians in their own right—asked Lukather to join them in forming Toto in 1976 along with Bobby Kimball, David Hungate, and Steve Porcaro.
Sorry fellas, one hit wonders never make the hall.
i hate that song “Africa” too.
The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame is really just The Music Hall of Fame now. Who deserves to be there more; Big E Smalls, Whitney Houston, or Toto?
The HOF has let in so many rap “artists” that excluding any rock musician, even in yacht or soft rock, isn’t defensible now. I can think of some Sixties British Invasion bands and singers who deserve the honor, too.
Pat Benatar isn’t in there either, and I think she has a stronger case than a throw away pop rock band like Toto.
