One of the impacts of the lockdown, and fear in general, is a big drop in the US birth rate (see above). When people are panicked, rational or not, they use contraception and have fewer children. Natural law is God’s law. You mess with natural processes, such as people interacting, you get significant societal impacts. I can state confidently - the potential for additional indirect deaths of tens of thousands of Americans that might happen if we totally ignored all lockdowns and mandates means less to me than a big drop in the birth rate. And more importantly, America will be hurt more by fearbros and fearbras not making babies than it will be by an uptick in mortality for people past retirement age. A strong America is one with a government that greatly fears messing with the lives of free people.

Well done that you don’t support mandatory mandates. Only big area of difference between you and me might be that I am more dismissive of claims that this is a serious illness that is worse than the flu.

I would like to get the Pfizer COVID vaccine but supplies are limited. So I have a modest proposal - anyone who has posted Flubro garbage on this thread in the last 8 months should refuse to take the vaccine, so there will be more available for me and my family. We can honor Jonathan Swift and Charles Darwin at the same time.
I am retired and in relatively good shape. I have no problem waiting to be vaccinated and let first responders, elderly, and Karen’s get the crack at it...
We’re just beginning to get back into flu season. It goes away every year (single digit number of cases across the entire US during the summer months) and usually starts to pick back up in November/December.
