Careful people would distinguish between Influenza, and a rhinovirus (common cold) and a coronavirus (such as COVID-19). There is some overlap because some coronavises are considered the cause for some common colds.
But I think the bean counters are sloppy and throw most of this stuff into one giant bucket.
If we’re not careful, they won’t let us leave our homes until they create a cure for the Common Cold.

If you look at the CDC website “Similarities and Differences between Flu and Covid” the clinical symptoms are essentially identical.
