It became apparent as soon as the rigged election threatened to unseat DJT that the only way to possibly save the investigation into the coup d'etat was to appoint a Special Counsel. Of course Biden/Harris can still fire the prosecutor - and their traitorous Stalinist media would praise them to the skies, but it would at least leave a black mark against them historically... for whatever that might be worth.
