Funny stuff going on here.
What’s funny is that the media totally screwed up the story from the get go.
The tip was put on a credit card. She, nor the restaurant, could collect on that tip until the credit card paid it. And the credit card bank had to do it’s due diligence to make sure this was legitimate and not just a forgery.
But the damage to Red Hook has been massive. They should sue the media. But what good would that do?.
After having an online bank do “due diligence” to my family, close all our accounts, seize all our funds, and keep us from paying bills and holding on to our money until my congressman’s staff got involved... Yeah, there’s funny stuff going on here but at this point I’d be willing to say the bank did it.
